Scientists considered that about 7 to 8 percent of your total body weight is blood. The amount of blood that we have varies, depending on different factors, such as sex, age, overall health, etc. (including Dracula!). An “average adult body” might contain between 4 to 5.6 liters approximately.
Your blood, however, is not static and it moves through the heart and around the body during a process called circulation. The right side of your heart receives blood from your body and pumps it to your lungs while the left side of your heart receives blood from the lungs and pumps it out to the body. During this process, an adult heart pumps approximately 2,000 gallons of blood each day.
