Lessons of Life: The lesson of the birds

By Eddy Montilla.

A couple of weeks ago, I remember that I finished my job a little bit early and went to see the cherry trees that were in full blossom at that time. I looked up the sky and saw a flock of birds flying almost in perfect synchronization. If we could learn how they manage to do that without crashing, we could say goodbye to those horrible traffic jams!

While I was waiting for the traffic light to turn green, something happened that drew my attention to the birds again. One of them distanced itself from the rest, which made the other birds feel confused, and as a result, the synchronization disappeared. When the bird came back to the flock, harmony came back too. The same situation occurred a couple of times and… The traffic lights changed a couple of times too! These birds made me think immediately about how important harmony and balance are to us. If you don’t balance home life and career, neither of these two areas will make you feel happy: Problems at home are reflected in your job and problems in your job are reflected at home. Try to find balance in all areas of your life, in all things you are doing and you will have the synchronization that will make you grow and fly better.
