The largest island is Greenland with an area of 2,175,600 square kilometers. More than 75 percent of the island is covered by ice. Greenland is considered an independent territory within the Kingdom of Denmark. It has a population of 57,000 predominantly Inuit, and Due to its large area and small population, it is the least densely populated country in the world.
