Curiosities: Can bats see?

By Eddy Montilla

They can’t see as well as other animals or “Batman”, but they can see. In order to see, bats use a method called “echolocation” that consists of the use of reflected sound waves for finding things. From a bat’s mouth ultrasonic waves are emitted and they produce vibrations when hit things. When these vibrations bounce back, they are felt by bats through their ears, which let them know the location of things or their future food and how near or far they are from them.
